City of Elderly Love is 100% donor funded and completely volunteer staffed! That means that $0.94 of every dollar donated to City of Elderly Love goes directly to veterinary expenses and supplies used to care for our senior pets.
It all started with a little old pit bull named Jema.

Jema was rescued from Philadelphia's animal control shelter in 2010. She lived three great years with her adoptive family and during that became a certified therapy dog and touched the hearts of many. Jema sparked the idea of City of Elderly Love and fueled the realization of need for more life-saving options for Philadelphia's homeless senior pets.
